Jessica Dessoffy and Kristen Hargett received a grant last year that enabled them to add a total of six new iPads to their second grade classrooms.

The iPads have been an exciting addition to all classroom learning experiences.  The students use them daily in learning centers.  They use the various apps to teach, practice and extend the second grade curriculum.  Through the use of the iPads, the students are able to learn and use the 21st century skills they will need for the future.

Using the iPads, the students also write, edit and illustrate their own digital stories. These stories can be shared via email, printed or posted on the classroom web page. The students’ excitement and enthusiasm for technology has been infused into their writing, and they always look forward to creating their next story. Overall, the iPads have improved the classroom experience for every child.
